The Art Of Card Shuffling

Card shuffling is a venerated ritual when you participate in a casino game. Even with modern card shuffling machine, doing it manually is still, the best and most trusted way of securing fairness in the game.

Several card shuffling techniques exist and their difference can be seen on how the cards are held and randomized.

One of the easiest techniques to master is the weave. Under this approach, cards are equally divided and pushed against each other.

A pile shuffle is another no-sweat way to randomize cards. Here, you divide the cards into equal parts and pile them on top of another.

On the other hand, stripping or the overhand technique is likewise a popular card shuffling approach. In stripping, you cut the cards into different parts and arrange them in a reverse order. Stripping is very popular in the west. In the east, it is the so-called Hindu shuffle that is commonly used.

At first, the Hindu shuffle looks a bit similar to stripping. However, they are entirely different from each other. During the above-mentioned shuffle, the top cards on the deck are dropped into the other hand until the cards are arranged reversely.

Lastly, you have the riffle. This is the most popular card shuffling technique that is used. This is where you divide the cards into two (2) equal parts and push the decks inward for the cards to intertwine. As a finale, you can lift the cards and allow them to slowly fall on top of each other. This act is known as “bridge.”

Even with the use of shuffling machines, manual card shuffling never goes out of style. This (ritual) has become so ingrained into the casino gaming communities that it would pretty hard to start a card game without performing this technique.

Keen memory
Having a keen memory is the best weapon that any card game player can have. Through this, you can predict not only your opponent’s move, but also the cards that have been dealt to him.
