WMF Solo Mahjong: Having fun while playing solo

WMF Solo Mahjong was designed specifically for solo players who wish to own the entire session all by themselves. Created under the World Mahjong Federation (WMF) rules, this online Asian game starts with a ready hand (one tile away from a win) and requires players to find the correct tile in the wall in order to complete it. The wall contains a set of 24 face-down tiles whose hidden symbols are automatically revealed once they are clicked. Players are given three chances per round to find the right tile.

Right beneath the wall is the hand. The space to the right of it holds the last picked tile, and the space just above it holds the discarded tiles. If player selects a tile from the wall and it fails to complete the hand, a “No hand” pop-up will appear and the tile will be discarded automatically. Up to three attempts are allowed in this game and it will only be over once it reaches this limit or when a lucky tile has already been picked.

In standard Mahjong, discarded tiles can be used to complete a hand. In this online, single-player version of the game, the case is not applicable. Discarded tiles do not participate in the game in any way.

With Solo Mahjong, the more points players obtain, the bigger their winnings. In the win screen, they can click on ‘Continue’ to view the last state of the round, or they can click on the ‘New Game’ button to immediately start the next round.
