12Ruby’s Three Cards Rummy is an online casino game, which deviates from the usual way of playing card games. Whilst majority of card games focus on beating the dealer’s hand, this one generates a win if your hand gets a lower value. Instead of worrying that you are not getting enough high valued cards, you will now worry on how you can get a hand with a lower value.

How to play the game

In this particular game, three (3) face down cards shall be distributed between the player and the dealer, thus the name, Three Cards Rummy.

When the participants have their own share of cards, the cards shall be opened and the value of the dealer and player’s hands shall be compared. The one who gets the weaker hand, wins.

To determine the value of your hand, always remember the following:

•        Ace gets the lowest value, which is one (1)
•        All face cards get a value of 10
•        Cards from 2 to 10 retain their face value
•        Winning combinations such as a pair, three of a kind etc. gets a value of zero (0)

Under this context, assuming that you get a king, a queen and an ace, while the dealer gets a 4, a 5 and a 6, the winner is no other than the dealer since the latter’s hand has a value of of 15 (4+5+6=15).

Meanwhile, you lose since your hand value is 21 [king (10) + queen (10) + ace (1) = 21].

Fold and Raise

Three Cards Rummy has two (2) other betting options, these are the fold and raise. Prior to opening the dealer’s face down cards, you will be asked if you want to go for a fold or a raise.

Going for a raise means you are confident that your hand will have a lower value. This will enable you to continue with the game. Meanwhile, going for a fold means surrendering your hand.

Take note that these two other betting options are different from the compulsory ante bet, which you have to place.
