Dealers in online casinos

The dealers that can be found in casino sites are grouped into two (2) categories. These are the live and digital dealers.

Digital dealers are computer-generated animations or voices. More often than not, they can be found in the so-called “random number generated (RNG)” games.

On the other hand, live dealers are the ones often seen in live casino rooms. These are real individuals—just like the ones often seen in brick and mortar casinos, except that they have a larger audience since the games they facilitated are broadcasted online. They may be confined in a customized and casino-inspired studio, but they have a wide coverage, except, of course, in areas where online gaming is prohibited.

Advantages and disadvantages

Although digital dealers are computer-generated, the use of sophisticated technology allowed them to portray a realistic casino environment.

Nowadays, it takes a trained ear to distinguish if the person speaking and giving instructions are live or not. But for those who have been playing for quite some time, it is easy for them to know.

As for live dealers, their presence gives a human touch  to the digital environment. For some players, it also increases the integrity of the game since they can see the game happened right in their very own eyes.

The incorporation of dealers into online casino gaming, regardless if they are live or digital is a successful attempt to remind players that they are not deprive of social engagements despite of playing in a purely digital environment.
